Rashami Desai expressed her disapproval towards the latest advertisement that showcases Ranveer Singh and Johnny Sins, as it is portrayed as a satirical imitation of a Hindi television drama.
Actor Ranveer Singh’s recent collaboration on an advertisement with adult movie star Johnny Sins has been making headlines, but it seems that television actor Rashami Desai is not impressed. The commercial cleverly parodies Hindi serials, incorporating dramatic dialogue and sound effects. Expressing her discontent, Rashami took to her Instagram stories to voice her opinion, stating that the ad ridicules the Indian television industry, and she strongly disagrees with it.
Rashami gained prominence through her appearance in the Hindi television show Uttaran, following her successful stint in the regional film industries. The talented actor, known for portraying the character of Tapasya in the renowned series, referred to it as an unforeseen collaboration.
She further stated, “I began my career in the regional film industry and then transitioned to the television industry. It is often referred to as the small screen, where regular people watch news, cricket, Bollywood films, and much more. After watching this unexpected reel, I felt it was a humiliation to both the TV industry and the people who work in television. We are constantly made to feel inferior. Actors also aspire to work on the big screen, and this is exactly how we are treated. Everyone is working hard, but I’m sorry, these things are not shown on TV shows. They happen on the big screen. There is nothing wrong with portraying reality, but this is a reality check for the entire TV industry because I feel it’s a slap in the face. Maybe I am overreacting, but we showcase culture and love to our audience. I am hurt because I have had a respectful journey in the TV industry. I hope you all understand the emotion.”
Ranveer shared the advertisement on his Instagram account on Monday, receiving praise from his fellow actors. Notably, Nakuul Mehta and Karan Kundrra were particularly impressed by the commercial. Nakuul expressed his admiration by commenting, “I am truly amazed by how well he is doing in his day job!” Meanwhile, Karan added, “Hahahahahhaah, he absolutely nailed it!”
In addition to these actors, other renowned celebrities like Arjun Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra, Vikrant Massey, and more also left encouraging comments on Ranveer’s advertisement.
