Google reintroduces Androidify: A guide to designing your own personalized Android Bot.

Google first introduced the original Androidify tool back in 2011, complete with its own Android app. However, the company decided to discontinue this experience in 2020. Fast forward to 2022, Google unveiled an updated 3D robot mascot for Android. Users can now once again design their own Android Bot using a new tool that bears resemblance to the old Androidify tool.

This new tool allows users to easily create a personalised 3D Android mascot in just a few simple steps. The company launched this feature in preparation for the upcoming Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona. Notably, Google had previously crafted custom bots for Sundar Pichai and Dave Burke internally. With this step-by-step guide, users can now fashion their own unique Android Bot to represent themselves across various devices and social media platforms.

How to create your customised Android Bot

  •  Visit the Android homepage and navigate to the section called “Create your own Android Bot” or use the provided link: https://www.android.com/build-android-bot/
  •  Explore a variety of 25 materials available for the pill-shaped mascot known as “The Bot,” including different colors, translucent versions, sports designs (football and tennis), camouflage, and more.
  •  Customize your Android Bot’s appearance by selecting from 20 clothing options, such as an astronaut outfit, Minion-esque suspenders, and various shirts.
  •  Enhance your Android Bot’s style with 20 accessory options, including glasses and hats. However, please note that you can only choose one accessory at a time.
  •  Add personality to your Android Bot with 20 props, such as the Pixel Watch, phone, camera, game controller, sporting equipment, and even food. Remember, you can only select one prop for your Android Bot.
  • Once you have created your custom Android Bot, you can download it and receive a QR code for the same.
